Sick Theme Prescription

Posted by Dave Minor Sat, 29 Apr 2006 03:29:00 GMT

I noticed that several of the themes don’t work with recent checkouts of typo. Upon activation, I would get a rails application error. Luckily the fix is easy. Thanks to pdcawley for the solution. (Search for ‘sidebars’ about halfway through his post where he says “BTW,...”

If any theme authors would like to fix their themes and provide us with updates, we would appreciate it. Send your updates to themes [AT] typogarden [DOT] com.

When is this site going to have themes again? I really miss coming to look at new themes. Is there another website where I can get my fix?

Is anyone still reading this website? Come of guys, this place used to kick ass and now it has gone down the drain and has no updates at all.

Allow me to chime in too; so much effort was put into all of these themes, and then after the Trunk broke compatibility it seems like everyone gave up. Where is this site? I almost feel like grabbing all the themes and slapping up a new site (after doing some sed/awk to fix them all for trunk fun). I only yesterday learned that I could use Lucid again after this fix.

Anyone want to get together to start working on this, contact me, otherwise I’ll keep checking back and hope for an update… It would seem that there should be two theme categories now: 2.6 and Trunk.

fak3r – I think you should start a new website, this one is going to be abandoned totally any day now, I’m amazed that anyone at all is still reading this!

Honestly, there haven’t been many themes sent in recently. If you are working on a theme or want to write a tutorial, I’d be glad to post it here!

There is a team working on a new theme directory site, but other commitments are getting in the way.

topfunky – I completely understand, but it’s been months, much like the Typo ‘homepage coming soon’ issue, I would just like to see all the themes more browseable, but it doesn’t have to be some award winning site to present them!

If there is a team working on this please put me/us in touch with them, I don’t have a hell of allot of time, but if I don’t have to click >> NEXT >> at the bottom of each of these pages to view a theme, that would save enough time to try and push the website along.

Lemme know, it feels like Typo is waning a bit, and it shouldn’t be; once it hits another stable (4.0?) I would expect folks to want up to date themes.

    Thanks!

I didn’t mean any disrespect Topfunky, quite the opposite in fact.

I love Typo! Its great. And, its a wonderful way to stay alternative in this world of wordpress and blogger.

Its just such a shame that people aren’t crafting new themes. Maybe a big push or a new competition might bring people out of the woodwork and into the limelight.

For anyone interested in checking out the themes on this site, I put together a Typo Themes Viewer to make visually scanning a lot easier.

As everybody is complaining about the fact there no new themes, a simple solution I would say is to create some yourself and make them public
