Phokus Theme

Phokus on the prize…from John Serris.
You’d have to view it on a live site to see the features. Has some clickable widget thingies done with javascript.
Update: Linked to John’s original copy on his server now.

Comments appear to be broken in both Safari and Firefox. Comments shows a thin white bar along with the bottom window handle suggesting that the comments window is sitting under the title banner. However, due to this bug, there’s no way to post comments. In Safari the Text is under the ico images representing the links in the sidebar.
I created this in firefox first (and just re-tested it) and it seems to work fine. Have to get myself in front of a mac and re-test safari though.
There is suppose to be a small white bar of space within the comment “panel” though!
Updates/fixes to this theme are available at http://phonophunk.com/typo-themes/
Quite nice. But it did first seem like a somewhat watered down version of phonophunk.com. After that I realized it’s done by the actual creator of that site so I guess it’s no surprise the style is recognizable ;)
Still no way to post comments in Safari or Firefox.
Mark how about getting leaving your details here: http://phonophunk.com/contact/ and we can try and sort it out.
I’m testing on my local machine using rails 0.14 and typo 2.6.0 and it works fine.
I tested this theme. I like it! The javascript however is of little use. It’s a shame things aren’t stored in a cookie. Right now collapsing an item doesn’t persist between page refreshes.
Yeah Marco I ran out of time so the theme isn’t actually finished :)
I love this theme . . . simply beautiful. A very well deserved second place.
Excellent theme, cant say anything that hasnt been said. Its definatly your style and if this kind of theme doesnt encourage people to check-out typo i dont know what will. Just all around smooth.. enough drooling for now. All the winners are great pieces of graphic design.
great design! but it seems to be broken with the current trunk, the content is blank when pressing an article, and no comments are shown. wierd.
I was trying this out on a default Rails server that comes up on port 3000, and the links weren’t formatted correctly (everything showed up with an external link icon). Change the linkIcons function in phokus.js under /javascript in the theme as follows, to match the port as well as the host name:
var regex = ’/’ + document.location.hostname + ‘(:[0-9]+)?/’;
John, Albert and all:
I have patched this theme to work with the theme API changes made in the Typo trunk since the 2.6.0 release:
http://paul.annesley.cc/articles/2006/04/03/patch-for-phokus-typo-theme
There might still be some issues, but it fixes the blank content and blank comments issues.
Sorry.. here is a direct link to the phokus patch to fix blank content
Love the theme
