Lush Theme

Marco van Hylckama Vlieg has spent many hours on Lush. It requires the current Typo trunk (which is used by many people anyway).
Lush is dedicated to my lovely girlfriend Renie who had to bear with me for many long nights and weekends while I was tweaking and tinkering this theme into oblivion.
Send your themes to boss [AT] topfunky [dot] com until midnight on November 28 (using your current time at wherever you are in the world). A link to your compressed theme is preferred, which will allow you to update your theme without re-sending it to me.

Wow. Very good.
I just added this at my site for the flickr macro.
.flickrplugin { float: left; }
Thanks Roeland! Glad you like it!
IMPORTANT UPDATE:
The zip now contains a .PSD file with the header graphics. You can now customize Lush’s look with ease and create entirely different looks with only very basic photoshop knowledge.
Click here to see what you can do with it!
Nice theme, very complete…
Very nice, i.m using this at my weblog :-)
Very nice theme – great work!
Nice theme. There’s some cool stuff going on here. The only gripe I have is with the sidebar. The color scheme really brings down the flow of the site.
Thanks all!
@superman> I experimented with various shades of green and concluded this looks best. It’s partially personal taste I guess.
The good news: It’s very easy to modify this. All it takes is changing the hue of one image and some css colors. You can see this in the examples I pointed to in response #2 in this comments thread :)
Great work Marco, good luck in the contest!
Same thing at your theme, very high CPU spikes in Safari, up to 45% !
But i like this theme and i think it doesn’t need so many icons. this makes the theme overloaded..
What computer is that Sebastian?
I get 1% CPU usage here on my machine. Leevi’s theme pulls a bit more but that’s because of sIFR / Flash. Still nothing to worry about though.
The fact that my demo seems to pull more CPU than Leevi’s sIFR enabled one surprises me. I can’t reproduce this problem at all.
Couldn’t get the theme to work. It doesn’t display the articles. Have I missed something here?
Garth> I think so because I’ve seen it running on at least three sites already (spotted them through incoming links in my stats package).
Could you please provide some more information?
Nice work Marco.
I especially like the fact that it’s easy to customize, your examples look quite good. Powerful feature, makes it a very good and useful theme. thumbs up
Good luck Marco. There is some stiff competition, but you have a great theme.
Thanks tracey! Keeping my fingers crossed!
For the others:
I found a tiny problem with users using paragraph tags in comments causing them to look funny. That’s fixed now!
Niced theme iv seen so far just casually browsing
Unfortunate note: The Ajax commenting seems to be broken on Firefox 1.5. It works on MSIE 6, Safari and Firefox 1.0.7. The comment does get saved fine, it just doesn’t auto-update the list of comments.
I hope the judges won’t hold this against me, I must have triggered a weird Firefox bug somewhere. I’m looking for a solution but at the moment I’m writing this I haven’t found one yet…
Check out this nice weblog for a real world example of someone using the .PSD template to customize Lush’s looks. Quite a personal feel!
The sidebar is kind of hard to read on that website. Not enough contrast. Nice to see someone using your theme though.
Nice theme… Something about the html/css seems to break the ability to use the markdown flickr image embed with a style float: right or float: left. It looks fine in the preview of the article, but not when displayed on the actual site.
Nevermind, something about my lack of experience with markdown was causing my issue :)
Thanks for the excellent theme: I’m using it modified on my video podcast blog: http://blog.2unstream.us:9093/
